Tabula Rasa Forever!!

Caeruleum made it to level 30 and is now a Spy.

On the Spy ability Polymorph: At first I wondered about its usefulness and gave it only one pump. Blue morphed into a Thrax soldier and I got a bit of revenge by giving the Bane their own taste of the Big Boot from Hell™. Later I was having a tough time killing the Caretaker boss in Velon Hollow, he being surrounded by other Caretakers and Technicians. Every time I engaged one, I'd draw aggro from the entire group and die a swift death. (Blue, as a Brann hybrid, has the hit points of paper.) Frustrated by many deaths, I started looking for other solutions and, with half a sense of having nothing to lose, I activated Polymorph. I intended to just reconnoiter around the room to get a look at the enemy forces, but I soon found myself alone in a nook with a Caretaker. I morphed back to Blue, killed the Caretaker with my cryogenic blade, then morphed back into a Thrax soldier. It worked – no alarms, no aggro. Aah, this is how Spies fight! I walked around the room again, finding only one Thrax technician and the boss Caretaker left alive. Knowing that the Tech would only drain my armor, I locked target on the Caretaker boss, morphed back to Blue, and let loose with my machine gun and an Ion Beam from Fire Support. Seconds later, both Bane were dead and the operation was complete.

Blue acquired her nice white Purifier set of armor and immediately painted it AFS Blue. However, her set is incomplete. The weapon drop from the Kael boss was a purifier injection gun, which Blue cannot use. This means a followup trip to Velon Hollow is in the cards, unless I get lucky and find an appropriate purifier weapon on the Military Surplus.

Squad SOP Part 2

I'd entered Velon Hollow with a teammate. I'd tried to solo it before with Blue and after three hours I was only halfway through before I had to retreat, the bosses being too much for Blue to handle alone. This time my squadmate and I made swift progress, clearing the first three chambers in minutes. We entered the final chamber. I immediately popped a two-way waypoint while my squadmate went to work on the Bane. With the waypoint up, I joined in, but we soon both died. I repaired at the medic vendor and transported back. I noticed that my squadmate remained at the vendor. I waited for him, but he didn't move. Then he left the squad. I did a quick /who on his surname to learn that he was still in the game. I said, "What's up?" in whispers and received no response. Another /who check and he was offline without a word. I have no idea why he left me there alone. Luckily, I was able to soldier on and complete the mission.

The second rule in Squad SOP is this: Let your squadmates know when you are leaving the squad. It might seem like no big deal to you, but your departure could be extremely inconvenient for the squadmates that had been relying on you to fulfill a certain role. You owe them the opportunity to regroup.
