Before I came to Tabula Rasa, I had spent nine years playing a MUD called
Legends of Terris. In my time there, I had taken to writing fiction about my character, the little barony that he ruled, and the people in and around that barony. You can
read most of it here.
Since I left Terris, I haven't written any fiction at all. And I do miss exercising that part of my brain. Occasionally I feel the itch to write something for Tabula Rasa, especially after I create a new character. When I cloned Matrona I went so far as to plot an origin story for her, something I hadn't done for my main character Mabon. And just yesterday I jotted down a few notes regarding how Caeruleum feels being not quite Human and not quite Brann. So perhaps soon I may make a full fledged attempt at publishing some TR fiction someplace on the web or submitting it to the TR website for their
Soul of a Soldier section.
I've toyed with the idea of creating another blog here at AFS Soldiers to be an in-character blog for the Deoradhan clan, but I don't want to create multiple usernames to do this. Too bad we can't have multiple blogs for a single username.
Of course, there's the question of the audience. Would anybody read these things if I wrote them? (I used to obsess over whether or not people were reading my fiction for Terris. Ask
Mrs Deoradhan.) Does anybody read
this blog? Ah well, at least my brain is getting exercise.
