Kellian Ravennhart...

“Kill her. It’s all you have to do.” “Kill Mary?” was his reply to the man seating in the back seat of the limousine. He’d been waiting for sometime now, deep into the night, in fact. It was a relief to finally have him here for his orders, as the steady rain was getting worse. “She’s a risk,” the man whose features were easily obscured from within the limo responded flatly. Sister Mary was the head nurse in an orphanage he’d become acquainted with in recent months. To be asked to kill her… Continue

New Picture - Here's Why

I have been doing solo runs ever since I started. I have never actually been in a squad before. I'm picky about how I work things out with missions. I'm picky about who I hang out with. I have seen squads before, and members squabbling, and so on. Because some squads can't seem to get along, I just avoid the problems so I can enjoy myself. I'm not playing for soap opera drama. Besides, I'm a slow fighter/learner when it comes to these types of games - and I take my time going through ins… Continue

Theme Changes

I've fiddled and faddled with a few things and experimented with my theme here. Since I enjoy maps in all forms, I wanted one of the maps somewhere in the title area theme. I used some paint shop fiddlings to fix up the Tabula logo in it's varied forms to make something of my own. The interesting thing is the silver like disk I placed in the skull's head in place of the typical Tabula insignia. They're kind of similar in ideal, but the odd thing is, I made the disk for a role-playing game in an… Continue

back to the Wilderness

Back tracked to wilderness to finsh the last few quests to get my master title. Now up to level 19.

Squad SOP

I spent most of yesterday in a squad with one other individual running instances in Pools followed by Guardian Prominence. Throughout our adventures there was one little thing he kept doing that bothered me. Every time he popped a portable waypoint it was a personal one. So off he'd go back to the beginning of the instance leaving me to pop my own waypoint or run back, which is what I increasingly began to do as this kept happening. I have my own supply of personal one-way, two-way, and squad tw… Continue

Commando

Made level 15 while clearing out the Warnet Cave in Divide. Finished the run and went back to the fort to meet the Commando trainer. The genius in supply gave me an EMP launcher. I promptly sold it and pick a better weapon on the battle field, or maybe go in Jim's footlocker and see if he left me anything I can use. Maybe someone smarter then me can explain the transporters accessing the cellar arena. I entered the cellar from Pallisdes and returned to Divide. I don't understand how, but it beat… Continue

Out of the wilderness

I made the journy to the Divide from the wilderness. I still have a few missions from wilderness to complete, but I had a mission to travel to the Divide, so I decided to go sight seeing. I do have to say the Bane in the Divide drop better loot. Once I've finished a few missions, gained better weapons and armor, then I'll go back and finish Wiliderness. I am currently at Level 13 and looking forward to 15.

The The

I've noticed a trend in TR of newer players adding an unnecessary "the" to map names when chatting. The Wilderness, the Divide, the Palisades, the Pools. It bothers me every time I see it. This would be the equivalent of saying something like "I'm going to the Alabama for the weekend," or "My company is flying me out to the Las Vegas for a trade show." Stop it already! It's Wilderness, Divide, Palisades, and Pools! Next thing you know they'll be saying "the Earth."

Phoenix

a fire bright burns in the night. From the glowing ashes rises a Phoenix. This Phoenix Grayraven reporting for duty. Uncle Jim has went to the inactive reserve. The ROE and equipment changes for Snipers were just to much for him. He said he just was not effective any more. Me I'm a more straight forward and in your face type. Maximum fire power applied liberally is my style. I'm currently a soldier in Foreas knocking down Bane. Uncle Jim left me some big shoes to fill. He is a good man caught in… Continue

Learning About Weapons

I have a feeling I should have learned weapons I use with Teanae before moving over to Dulfer for a new twisted view of the game. Teanae will be heading into the Exobiology Division. Dulfer is going to be a Guardian. Now, I am by no means a typical gamer. I have played only two on-line games other than Tabula Rasa. Both were text games. No eye candy. I'm also more of a role-player and story writer than a shoot em' up and let it all out type. I have never really fought well in other games, or gai… Continue

Respect

It's not like I ask for much as a member of the Tabula Rasa network/world/whatnot. However, I am one who is deep with the idea of respect toward any person or persons. I believe that respect is something you should have for everyone you meet, even if you do not know the person at all, and most especially if you don't really even know what's going on around you or your environment. Several people in Tabula Rasa believe that constant jumping is a necessary way of movement. Why? Not only do you lo… Continue

Update

Been almost a month since my last post. Engy is up to 40 and going to be there a while. Sniper is what I'm playing the most, got him up to lvl 36. Doing Pools instances with him now. Finished Retread Caverns last night and actually used my TSR quite a bit. Chainguns are not good for miasmas but with Rage and shredder ammo my TSR could take them down even at close range.

A bit of fiction, hope you all like it.

Tales of the Black Shamrock company We weren’t always called The Black Shamrocks. Once we were just the AFS 113th. That was before that day, all those months back. On Foreas, on the road, heading toward Imperial Valley. It’s a day I will never forget. On one hand because it was the day that we were formed, on the other because I watched as my company was slaughtered. Sounds contradictory doesn’t it. Let me tell you the story and you will understand. I suppose introductions are in order first. M… Continue

Patch 1.7.5

WOW! So I was at the hydroplant last night to test out the new patch. DAMN!!!! The Bane were in the walls and so I took up my customary position around the CP itself. well I started my typical pick-off routine, and next thing I know I got the attention of anything within visial range of my target, blasting away at me. HOLY SH*T!!! Death was quick. Back to the hospital, quick repair and then back out to the field. I try to do a Stick and move routine, but shields regen way to fast for that, so ha… Continue

A.J. Raffles vs the Control Point

Sometimes I wonder where thrill and adrenaline begin and fear ends, or maybe the other way around. I was contemplating this as I took a knee and lined up a shot on a Thrax private as our group assaulted the Landing Zone. The soldier to my left charged in and opened up with a chaingun - I guess that's as good a sign as any to open fire. I put down the Thrax, reloaded and advanced, dropping behind a fallen tree. The Thrax were charging along with a big, ugly Kael. I put down another Thrax, but by… Continue

A.J. Raffles vs the Cave

I'm getting used to life here. I run missions for the AFS brass or for the Foreans - I'm putting down my share of crusties and developing a rather intimate relationship with my shotgun. I tell ya, the shotty has gotten me out of more tight situations than I care to talk about. I got a tip there might be a Logos shrine inside of a cave near Lower Eloh, and something like that definitely deserves a closer look. When I got there the place was wall-to-wall with these goddamn miasma. It's like if a… Continue

A.J. Raffles vs The First Few Hours of Hell

I learned a lot in ROTC at the U of A. Things like how to march, when to salute, how to run until your guts threaten to burst, but mostly I learned that military units live and die on discipline. A well-armed army with no leadership and chaotic organization will get its ass kicked by a well-disciplined force, and that's the truth. And I hope that's how we'll win. I learned a little in boot - some basic firearms training, but nothing new. Some demolitions...that was kinda fun, and the standard t… Continue

Feedback Friday - 4th July 2008

It’s Feedback Friday time, and we’re here to give you an update on what’s been going on in the world of Tabula Rasa for this week.

Deployment 10 is now on the Public Test Server and we’d love any chance you get to take a crack at it and, to put it bluntly, break it. We had a 2 week bug fixing extension for this deployment, so we know some of you are chomping at the bit to see it. The next patch will also include fixes to some of the current D10 known issues.

D10.2 is now on PTS

Highlights of this build include several ability changes to make combat even faster, our new Looking For Squad (LFS) system, our famous double and tri-barrel shot guns, and a new instance map called Dybukkar Garrison in Abyss. Read all of the details in our Deployment 10 Patch Notes.

Please note, the character database from the Pegasus server is on PTS currently, but we will use the Cassiopeia database for our next build sometime next week. We encourage you to use the PTS Level Command and Grey Market Vendors to help in your testing. As always, please make sure to send us your feedback using the Feedback Form, and report any bugs you see by typing /bug.

Want to try Deployment 10, but you haven’t installed the Public Test Server? It’s easy! Just follow these simple instructions.

Emergency network Maintenance - Thursday 3th July

A Network Maintenance will be carried out at 7pm British Summer Time (20H00 Continental Time) tonight and may affect access to all Tabula Rasa servers for an hour, until the scheduled of the maintenance at 8pm British Summer Time (21H00 Continental Time).

The impact on the game servers should be minimal but if you loose connection or cannot log in to the servers between or around those times, then it is probably due to the Network maintenance.

We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience!

Join NCsoft at Games Convention 2008!

The wait is almost over! This summer NCsoft will be attending the Leipzig Games Convention, where players can meet the community team and that includes Kerenski and me, Avatea too! You’ll also be able to win swag and go hands on with the hotly anticipated Aion: The Tower of Eternity. Yes, you read right… now find out how.

TabulaCast Episode 28

This episode of TabulaCast is an interview with Tom Potter, lead designer of Tabula Rasa.

Amongst the many things we discuss include:
  • Tom tells us about his role as lead designer on Tabula Rasa and how important the community is to his role
  • PAU's: when we can start seeing concept art and how they will be introduced into the game
  • Delivery of new systems and Tom's vision for this
  • The Neph Warrior and how they will introduce new types of spawns to maps that make use of logos
  • New creatures pretty soon and mobs whose visual appearance is level based
  • Armour design and the differences between them
  • Solo-ability and overall vision for class balance
  • Community focused areas to act as a hub for players to get together such as the CELLAR Arena
  • Is there room for a group XP bonus?
  • Thoughts  on balance between PVP and PVE gameplay
  • Crafting and how it WILL be something valid to do when not combating and it will be in a level ilk so modules can level and perform better.
  • Control points and how it's important to make the new features for everyone -- not only PVP but PVE players too
  • Tom tells us how he loves player customization and more options such as progressive armour and weapons like the new shotgun
  • He also tells us how repeatable content such as instances, PvP maps and the like outside of the main game are things he'd like to see in the next few months.
  • Tom tells us about his favorite class and his favorite TR moment when playing on the live servers
  • All members of the team have a big interest in the game because they play it and are therefore invested.
  • And more!

This weeks theme tune is "Pulp" by Common People
